The task of the Department of Archaeology is not, in any way, confined to the theoretical and practical sides of the academic activities aiming to qualify specialist cadres in all fields of archaeological knowledge. In this line it aspires to exceed that to the cultural and scientific and experts (Arabs and non Arabs) to talk about their field of interests.

Staff and students of the department celebrated, for the first time, the international day archaeological sides and the Museum day. This cultural demonstration included lectures on museum practice and the protection of archaeological sites, presented by scholars invited specially for this occasion.

The department of archaeology was duly presented with certificates of honor in recognition o their endeavor & success.
