The department of archaeology initiates scientific journeys to the archaeological cities and sites throughout the country, and can be itemized as follows : In terms of the archaeological trips, the department continued the implementation of this programme in the second half of each academic year so students be able to watch closely what they had studied theoretically in the classroom, This programme applied to deepen the knowledge gained by the students, through the observations during their visits to archaeological sites and identify what it contains of archaeological effects and legacy that the students studied theoretically  or witnessed some through various illustration, The programme is prepared in this regard is attached to the syllabus that the students study, students of second and third year practical program would be to visit archaeological sites in the classical Libyan east and west, such as Cyrene, and Susa, Potlmais, Tocherh, Qasr Libya, Aslenteh, Lipets Magna, Tripoli and other archaeological sites and museums. The fourth year students, their program involves visiting sites of Islamic monuments in Ajdabia, Sirte, Benghazi and Tripoli, the department also ensures that students visit archaeological sites in the South, which specializes in pre-historic sites and Algerament history and civilization, such as Alakakos, Jerma Archaeological City, as well as visit sites of pre history in Green Mountain, such as the Hoa Ftih cave, Almegrnat cave and others. In addition to visiting the archaeological museums throughout the country.

It should be noted that the department was in previous years supervised scientific trips to archaeological sites outside the Libya, including trips to Greece, Italy, Syria and the Morocco, however, it has stopped now and the department  focused on internal trips.
